PRIMARY ELECTION DAY: Tuesday, May 10, 2022

Polls open at 6:30 am and close at 7:30 pm.

Important Dates

  • Fri., April 19: Deadline to Register to Vote
  • Mon., April 22: Deadline for Voter Registration Cards Without Postmarks to Arrive By Mail (Postmarked Registrations must be dated on or before the 22nd)
  • Wed., May 4: Deadline to Submit Application for Absentee Ballot from Eligible Voters (Emergency Absentee Ballots can be requested from May 3rd until noon on May 10th)
  • Wed., May 4: Deadline for Application for Absentee Ballot from Military or Overseas Voter
  • Mon., May 9: Deadline for Hand Delivery of Absentee Ballots
  • Tues., May 10: Election Day
  • Wed., May 11: Deadline for Mail Delivery of Absentee Ballots Without Postmark
  • Mon., May 16: Deadline for Mail Delivery of Absentee Ballots Postmarked on or before Election Day

The League of Women Voters, Community Coalition for Social Justice, and NAACP cohosted candidate forums. They will be available on the Facebook Page and YouTube channel for the League of Women Voters of Morgantown-Monongalia County.

What to Expect on Your Primary Election Ballot

  • View a sample ballot for your district from the Monongalia County Clerk.
  • If you are registered Republican, you will receive only the Republican Ballot.
  • If you are registered Democratic, you will receive only the Democratic Ballot.
  • If you are registered Mountain or Libertarian, you will receive only the Non-Partisan Ballot.
  • If you are registered No Party Affiliated or with any other unrecognized political party, you may choose either the Republican or the Democratic Ballot when you appear to vote. If you do not choose a political party ballot, you will be given a Non-Partisan Ballot containing only the contests for Board of Education and Conservation District Supervisor.
